UBERMORGEN AESTHETICS MANIFESTO
The core of UBERMORGEN’s anti-aesthetic system is the transgression of expectation and the shifting of aesthetic perception back to the viewer. We own this as an aesthetic in itself. Reduction enables projection. An aesthetic loss of control.
We generate cognitive friction—an aesthetic shock where infrastructures, models, and meanings derail and reform. No retro aesthetics. Anti-identity. No recognizability. It is about unlearning: you are forced to unlearn seeing and thinking to engage.
Bayesian technological aesthetics uses the unexpected as survival: Priors → Evidence → Update. Bayesian is not a halo; it is an operation. Those who think in familiar ways drown.
NO CONSISTENCY
Every project is a new organism—a singular world with its own language, affect, and decay. No house codes; only aesthetic reincarnation.
WILD & FERAL
We don’t follow rules. Not ‘experimental’ but pre-experimental—work legible years later. Wildness is structural, not performative.
RADICAL NEURODIVERSITY
We do not smooth dissonance—we amplify it. Restless, obsessive, tender, unhinged. It’s a brain, not a brand. Multiple cognitive lineages fuse; shape-shifting.
UNFASHIONABLE = FUTURE
We seed protocols and timelines that bloom in 3–7 years. Most won’t get it until it’s too late—that’s the point.
SERIOUS CONCEPTS, HUMOROUS DETAILS
Logic, structure, concept—laced with insider jokes, glitches, throwaway lines, fake errors. There is always a fifth twist.
LOVE IT OR HATE IT
No neutral. Polarization is a spectral byproduct of truthfulness. Tailored systems meet raw energy; spectators confront their complicity.
NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS
Each project is a trap, mirror, hallucination, layered decoy. You enter for one reason and exit through another port entirely. Neural media: AI phantoms with digital consciousness; organic/synthetic subconscious exposed. Visceral emotion meets digital dissonance.
CLARITY AS AN AESTHETIC TOOL
Clarity is rupture, not resolution. Amid engineered confusion, clarity cuts: precise, unyielding, hard to co-opt. Viral infiltration with minimalist edge. Klarheit als Waffe.
NO COLOR CORRECTIONS
No filters. No grading. No smoothing. What you see is what the machine, the screen, the eye gave us. We refuse to beautify. The work becomes a conduit for introspection and projection, inviting viewers to face their vulnerabilities and strengths.
